Die Nachlassverwaltung widerspricht einem Artikel von „Radar Online“, demzufolge eine Exhumierung bevorstehe. Dem Autor wird empfohlen, seinen Job zu wechseln.
In einem weiteren Schreiben an den TV-Sender HBO, werden diese vor der Ausstrahlung von „Leaving Neverland“ gewarnt, da es zur grössten Scham von HBO werden könnte. Gemäss einer Nachricht an die Fans wird an einer Entlarvung der verleumderischen Doku gearbeitet.
Co-Nachlassverwalter John Branca gab gegenüber „USA Today“ zu verstehen, dass der Film mit der Absicht gedreht wurde, ihre Zivilklagen zu befördern. Diese wurden vor Gericht zurückgewiesen.
„Es ging seit 2010 um Geld, als Wade Robson zu mir kam, um eines unserer Projekte zu leiten und abgelehnt wurde“, so Branca. „Da Robson und Safechuck eine aktive Berufung am Laufen haben, wie können sie sagen, dass es bei ihren Aktionen nicht um Geld gehe, während dem sie noch immer Millionen aus Michaels Nachlass fordern?“
„Sie hätten diese Behauptungen niemals zu Lebzeiten Michael Jacksons erhoben, als er sich hätte verteidigen können“, sagt Branca. „Verleumdungsgesetze schützen den Verstorbenen nicht. Wir haben grosses Verständnis für die Opfer von Kindesmissbrauch, aber das ist nicht Michael.“
„USA Today“ hat für Ihren Artikel auch mit Thomas Mesereau gesprochen, der Michael Jackson 2005 unter anderem mit der Hilfe von Wade Robson vor Gericht verteidigt hatte.

In the past few days, several of you have written to us about an absurd and obscene article that appeared this week in RadarOnline. RadarOnline is, of course, nothing more than an entertainment site existing to appeal to the most base instincts of humanity, and is barely worthy of the designation of tabloid.
However, since they published their absurd story, the Estate’s attorneys have sent the publishers this response. We hope this will allay some of the concerns you have expressed over the last few days. The text of the letter may be read here.
