i1 Da MCA gegen zwei Auflagen von Michael Jackson`s Plattenfirma verstiess, indem sie das E.T. Album unter anderem vor Thriller veröffentlichten, musste “E.T The Extra Terristrial” bald nach Veröffentlichung wieder vom Markt genommen werden. Michael Jackson gewann 1984 einen Grammy Award für das “beste Hörspiel für Kinder”. Der Song Someone In The Dark (opening version) wurde im neuen Jahrtausend auf Jackson`s Thriller Special Edition und Ultimate Collection veröffentlicht. Die 3 minütige Someone In The Dark (ending version) ist nur auf dem E.T. Storybook Album zu finden. Die Musik entspricht der opening Version, Michael singt aber andere Lyrics.
i2 Captain Eo” ist ein 17 minütiger 3D Film von Walt Disney mit Michael Jackson als Hauptdarsteller. Regie führte Francis Ford Coppola, George Lucas schrieb am Drehbuch mit. Der Michael Jackson Song “We Are Here To Change The World” war nur im Film zu hören, erst 2004 wurde er auf Jacksons “Ultimate Collection” releast. Eine Album Version von “Another Part Of Me wurde 1987 auf “Bad” veröffentlicht.
Im September 1986 feierte Captain EO im Imagination! Pavilion von Epcot, dem Walt Disney Park in Orlando, Premiere. Für den von Francis Ford Coppola gedrehten 17-minütigen Musikfilm wurden diverse neu entwickelte Techniken erstmals verwendet. Das Resultat verblüffte die Besucher der Disney Parks, die den Film exklusiv zeigten. In Epcot wurde er bis ins Jahr 1994 gezeigt. Disneyland in Kalifornien zeigte den Streifen bis 1997. In Tokyo lief er bis 1996. Und Paris nahm ihn erst 1998 aus dem Programm. (Seit Mitte 2010 ist Captain EO erneut in den Parks zu sehen). Mit geschätzten knapp 24 Millionen US Dollar Produktionskosten, galt Captain EO bei Erscheinen als teuerster Film aller Zeiten (in Betracht der Kosten pro Minute).
