Angesichts der traurigen Entwicklung in der Ukraine nehmen wir den Song „We’ve Had Enough“ unter die Lupe.

Die aufrüttelnde Nummer war einer der ersten Songs, den Rodney Jerkins und Michael Jackson für das „Invincible“ Album aufgenommen hatten. Entstanden ist er aus einer Writing-Session mit Carole Bayer Sager. Das Thema – sich entschlossen und vereint gegen Kriege stark zu machen – vereinte die drei unterschiedlichen Musiker.

Für das „Off The Wall“ Album hatte Michael Jackson bereits 20 Jahre zuvor einen Song von Carole Bayer Sager als Cover aufgenommen: „It’s The Falling In Love.“ Und für ihr Album „Sometimes Late At Night“ sang er das Duett „Just Friends“ mit ihr ein.

Für das „Invincible“ Album wollte Michael erneut mit der im Jahr 1944 geborene Carole Bayer Sager zusammen arbeiten und zog den jungen Hit-Produzenten Rodney Jerkins hinzu. So entstand „We’ve Had Enough“ im Jahr 1999, wurde letztendlich dann aber doch nicht auf Michael Jacksons Album veröffentlicht. Als Michael im Zuge der Vertragserfüllung mit Sony Music im Jahr 2004 die „Ultimate Collection“ rausbrachte, erblickte „We’ve Had Enough“ dann doch noch das Licht der Welt und entpuppte sich als Favorit vieler Fans.

In Gedanken und mit Gebeten sind wir bei den vielen unschuldigen Opfern des neusten Konfliktes und gedenken den Menschen weltweit, die in ständiger Angst leben.

Beispielsweise über das Internationale Rotkreuz oder Caritas Schweiz kann für die Ukraine gespendet werden.
